Kevin Spacey makes Chinese film

Kevin Spacey has become the latest Oscar winner to make a foreign movie in China.

Following on from Christian Bale, who appeared in drama The Flowers of War, Spacey plays a brash American crimefighter in Dayyan Eng's new film Inseparable, which has been shot with Mandarin and English dialogue.

In the film, the actor plays a neighbour who inadvertently prevents Chinese actor Daniel Wu's depressed character from taking his own life, and persuades him to become his vigilante sidekick.

Spacey says he had a great time making the movie and now hopes to return to China to produce more films there.

"A great deal of finance and talent is going to be coming to China in the next decade," he says. "I have every intention of returning and working again, both as an actor, but I would also love to produce films in China."
