Man killed in Melbourne drive-by slaying

The West Australian June 21, 2009, 1:30 pm

Homicide Squad detectives are hunting for two men suspected of being involved in Saturday night's fatal shooting in Altona North.

A 28-year-old Altona North man, believed to be a father of two, was shot dead as he was getting out of his car in Fifth Avenue around 7.45pm (AEST), in Melbourne's west.

Police are also looking for a gold or champagne coloured 2005 Holden Commodore SS sedan that was seen at the scene shortly before the drive-by shooting.

The shooting is Melbourne's second in only a week following the death of gangland figure Desmond "Tuppence" Moran who was gunned down at a cafe in Ascot Vale last Monday.AAP
