Blue Energy has commissioned a study into route options for a gas pipeline between its Galilee Basin coal seam gas project and various ports on the Queensland coast.
The study will examine the most commercially attractive options for a gas pipeline and secure regulatory survey licenses for the preferred route.
Blue Energy executive chairman Peter Cockcroft said the study was a key element along the path to commercialising the gas province.
Next month, Blue Energy plans to drill 21 holes at the project to gather geological data for the reserve certification process and help in determining locations for pilot production wells.
Blue Energy shares were off half a cent, or 2.5 per cent, to 19.5 cents at 9.45am.
