Miracle boy survives runaway car

The West Australian June 24, 2009, 1:15 pm

A four-year-old boy hit by a runaway car has lived through the ordeal.

Miracle boy Muhammet Dirlik was standing on the footpath in Sanliurfa, Turkey, when he was hit by the car, thrown down a flight of steps and hurled to the ground alongside the vehicle.

CCTV footage from the weekend incident shows Muhammet running away after he was struck.

The car plunged into a shopping area before finally coming to a stop in a shop window.

Held by his father Ibrahim Halil Dirlik after the amazing escape, Muhammet asked if he had been hurt.

"No," he said, as he played uninjured on playground equipment.
