Puppy victim of Sydney car jacking

The West Australian June 27, 2009, 1:45 pm

Police in Sydney's west are looking for an eight-week-old puppy - the victim of a car jacking in Sydney's west.

They say the pup got caught up in the heist at a St Mary's car park in State Street, St Mary's, about 7pm(AEST) last Thursday.

A woman was forced from her BMW sedan by a man of Middle Eastern appearance as she waited for her husband to return from grocery shopping.

The man allegedly threatened her with what she believed was a handgun.

The 27-year-old woman got out of the dark green 1992 BMW and the car jacker drove off at high speed with an eight-week-old light brown English-Mastiff puppy in the back.

The car jacker was reportedly aged 25-30 and of Middle Eastern/Mediterranean appearance.

He was described as heavy to obese and unshaven.

At the time he was wearing a black jacket and black track pants.

Anyone who spots a BMW with the registration number BHA55Q, is urged not to approach it but to contact Triple Zero (000) immediately.
