Germany were this morning crowned European Under-21 champions after they crushed England 4-0 in the final in Malmo.
Without strikers Gabriel Agbonlahor and Fraizer Campbell and keeper Joe Hart - all needlessly suspended - and with Arsenal's Theo Walcott playing as a solitary striker, England were taken apart as Germany once again got the better of their long-standing rivals.
Goals from Gonzalo Castro, Mesut Özil and Sandro Wagner (2) secured Germany the title in Sweden and they are now European champions at under-17, under-19 and under-21 level.
