A Rockingham sex worker who allegedly went on an online shopping spree using credit card details stolen from her clients has been arrested by police.
The major fraud squad identity crime team swooped on the 35-year-old's home seven days ago.
It is alleged the woman stole credit card details from her clients and later used them to make extensive purchases of goods and services valued at over $100,000 via the internet.
In addition, police allege, she gained access to identity documents of a female associate and later assumed the victim's identity to make numerous online applications for credit cards in the victim's name - racking up $13,000 credit card debt.
On June 25, Major Fraud Squad detectives used a search warrant to search the woman's house in Rockingham and recovered a large quantity of the property allegedly obtained by fraud.
Police say members of the public, internet sales companies and financial institutions were all victims of the woman's online crime spree.
"This is a good reminder to the public to remember to secure their identification documents, credit cards and credit card details to avoid becoming victims of unscrupulous fraud offenders," a police spokesperson said
The woman was charged with 39 fraud related offences and will appear in Rockingham Magistrate's Court tomorrow.
