Arrests follow drug raids in Shelley, Lesmurdie

Cannington police raided a house in Shelley last night and allegedly discovered a sophisticated hydroponic operation that led them to another house in Lesmurdie where a similar operation was being run.

Two men have been charged with a range of drug related offences.

The first bust occurred at 7pm when police executed a search warrant on an address in Riverton Drive, Shelley, where detectives allegedly found a highly developed hydroponic operation with 15 mature plants.

Nearby, police allegedly found 3.5kg of the drug packaged and ready to go.

A 36-year-old man was charged with possession of cannabis and cultivating cannabis with intent to sell. He is expected to appear in the Perth Magistrate's Court on July 21.

During the investigation at the house, police discovered that the man owned another house in Lesmurdie.

Another search warrant was issued to search an address in Orangedale Road, Lesmurdie.

Police allegedly discovered 15 mature plants growing on a hydroponic machine, 1kg of dried cannabis and a substantial amount of cash.

A 39-year-old man was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis, and cultivating cannabis with intent to sell.

He is expected to appear in the Midland Magistrate's Court on July 21.
