The second night of the police blitz on drunken violence was quiet overnight with only 39 people arrested across WA compared to more than 140 on Friday night.

A police spokesman said that the final part of Operation Unite, a two-day national crackdown on alcohol-fuelled violence and antisocial behaviour, had also seen 35 people issued with move-on notices and 89 people summonsed for various petty offences between yesterday evening and 5am today.

Licensing enforcement officers visited 314 licensed venues overnight and issued 28 liquor infringements.

The spokesman said it had been a subdued period in comparison to Friday night and the early hours of Saturday morning, when 142 people were arrested and 11 move-on notices were issued.

Sniffer dogs, undercover police and mobile squads had been on hand to respond quickly to trouble spots across Perth.

The police blitz had also included a heavy focus on drink-driving, with 55 people charged with drink-driving across the State overnight.

The majority of these drivers had been caught by the booze bus set up in the south-bound lanes of the Kwinana Freeway in South Perth.

A second booze bus was brought to that location at 3am today to deal with the high volume of drink-drivers.

A total of 51 motorists were caught drink-driving by those booze buses, including 25 people charged with excess 0.05 per cent, 19 drivers charged with excess 0.08, five drivers charged with driving under the influence, one person charged as a result of a blood test and two novice drivers charged with excess 0.02.

Police increased the number of officers patrolling entertainment precincts over this weekend, with a heavy presence in Northbridge, Perth CBD, Fremantle, Burswood, Leederville and Subiaco, and in regional centres such as Kalgoorlie, Bunbury, Geraldton and Albany.

Police rapid response units patrolled various city hot spots and moved to areas across Perth to quell violence and antisocial behaviour.
