LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - "Lie to Me" star Jennifer Beals has been cast in Hallmark Channel's original movie "The Night Before the Night Before Christmas."

The family film is about what happens when Santa Claus accidentally leaves the North Pole a day early and crash-lands on a family's roof.

The production has begun shooting in Toronto and is set to premiere next year on Hallmark Channel. Since Showtime's "The L Word" concluded its run, Beals has co-starred in Fox's "Lie to Me" and appears in the upcoming feature "The Book of Eli."
