Thief in 'Michael Jackson gloves' robs pharmacy

A thief wearing "Michael Jackson gloves" and armed with a knife terrorised pharmacy staff in Ballajura last night.

Staff at Summer Lakes Pharmacy were left shaken after a bandit stormed the store and demanded cash and prescription drugs.

A police spokesman said the male offender went to the pharmacy on Illawarra Crescent about 8pm land threatened workers with a knife.

He made them sit on the floor while he loaded a green shopping bag with goods before fleeing.

The thief was described as 180cm tall and of medium to solid build.

He was wearing a white hooded jumper, a red-bandana over his face, "Michael Jackson look-a-like gloves", black pants and black shoes.

In a separate burglary in Redcliffe yesterday a thief stole a large amount of cash and jewellery from a woman's house when she was attending a nearby senior citizens club.

The burglary, between 1pm and 3pm, happened on Flemington Way. The 40-year-old resident returned home to fine her back window smashed.
