Federated Farmers' Wairarapa branch chairman Anders Crofoot has been elected president of the Dunedin-based New Zealand Grassland Association.
"The association provides a vital forum for those interested in the leading edge of pastoral farming," he said after his election at the Grassland annual meeting at Waitangi.
The association was identifying best practice in pastoral farming as well as trends and opportunities, said Mr Crofoot, who presented a paper examining whether carbon credits could provide reliable cashflows.
He replaced Pat Garden, of Roxburgh.
