Meet the world’s fattest man

Yahoo! New Zealand February 13, 2012, 5:08 pm

Born in Harlesden, North West London, and weighing 381 kilos, Keith Martin is believed to be the world’s fattest man.

Martin, who requires a specialist team of eight men and a large stretcher to move him, has not left his house in 10 years.

The obese man, who admittedly has not been in a relationship for over 20 years, started eating compulsively as a teenager after his mother died.

“I hate what I have done to myself,” Martin told the Daily Star Sunday.

“My mother died when I was 16. I didn't care about anything after that and couldn't care less what happened to me. I ate anything and everything.”

Eighteen people – an ambulance crew of eight, four nurses, four carers and his two sisters – are required just to keep him alive.

According to the Daily Mail, Guinness World Records have asked Martin to get in touch to determine if he is indeed the fattest man alive.
