The jury in the trial of the couple charged after the death of their baby daughter have gone home for the night.
They retired to consider their verdicts at noon today, and have been deliberating for four hours.
Eleven-week-old Tahani Mahomed was admitted to hospital with head injuries on December 28, 2007. She died on New Year's Day.
In the High Court in Auckland, Azees Mahomed, 31, has denied murdering Tahani and two counts of causing her grievous bodily harm.
He and his wife, Tabbasum Mahomed, 26, have also denied failing to provide the child with the necessaries of life.
