Scrub fire north of Wellington

Newstalk ZB November 8, 2009, 5:00 am

It is not known if fireworks had anything to do with a scrub fire north of Wellington.

Half a dozen crews from the region along with rural firefighters went to deal with the flames on the Paekakariki Hill Road last night.

The Fire Service has been keeping an eye on things overnight, and plans to attack the fire using a helicopter this morning.

The service says the problem it is facing is access, rather than the size of the fire.
