The Maori Party is having more talks today with outspoken MP Hone Harawira, as it clarifies details of what happened on his trip to Europe.
The member for Te Tai Tokerau is in trouble after skipping an official meeting in Brussels to go sightseeing in Paris.
But there is been a much bigger fuss about an abusive email he sent defending the excursion.
Party president Whatarangi Winiata says there were three parts to the European trip, and there was an understanding that Mr Harawira would complete all of them.
He says while the meeting in Brussels was an official part of the trip, it was seen by Mr Harawira as an extra.
Dr Winiata says the email Hone Harawira sent was abominable, and is being taken very seriously by the party.
