Helen Clark is enjoying her new job as the head of the United Nations Development Programme, a year after being ousted as Prime Minister.
The former Labour leader says she gets to do a lot of travel, has a large organisation to lead, and is involved in interesting issues.
Miss Clark told TVNZ's Q&A programme this morning she went into politics because of a passion for international affairs.
She says being Prime Minister seems almost as long ago as the day she started university in 1968.
Miss Clark says she likes to think she can close the door on one thing and open the door on the next, and become fully involved.
She says she does not miss her old job at all.
