Asset sell-off, says Labour

Newstalk ZB November 8, 2009, 11:02 am

Labour believes the Government is quietly clearing the way for a massive sell-off of Auckland's assets.

Auckland Issues spokesman Phil Twyford says a piece of legislation which would force the Government to consult the public is being repealed.

He says the change is being dressed up as a minor law change, because National knows people do not want privatisation of assets and services.

Mr Twyford says polls consistently show 80 percent of the public are against it.
