Police still want help from the public as they search for a serial sex attacker in south Auckland.
A 14-year-old boy has twice appeared in court in connection with a sexual assault on October 27 on a 29-year-old woman on a Mangere walkway.
His latest appearance was yesterday in Manukau Youth Court, where he will reappear later this month. He cannot be named.Investigations have also been launched into three other attacks on women in the same walkway -- from Cape Rd and behind Nga Iwi Primary School on Mascot Ave -- since September.
Police spokeswoman Ana-Mari Gates-Bowey said information was still needed on these."We're still asking for people who knows anything about these to come forward," she said.
The first incident was on September 8, when a 12-year-old girl was grabbed from behind and indecently assaulted. An eight-year-old girl was raped on October 19 by a Maori or Polynesian male while walking home from school with her six-year-old sister, who screamed for help.
Three days later a male grabbed a 28-year-old woman who was pushing her son in a pram. She punched him and he fled.Police have advised people to take care, adding that it was important for adults to accompany young children and for women to walk in groups, rather than alone.
Avoiding the walkway where possible was also recommended.
