Wellington's 'brand' impacted by parking wardens

Newstalk ZB January 30, 2012, 6:38 am

Wellington's 'brand' has been impacted by overzealous parking wardens.

That's according to councillor Bryan Pepperell, who's welcoming a review of Wellington City Council's parking 'spy-car'.

The council has announced it will rein in the car for the next two months as it reviews its operations in the city.

Numerous complaints have been laid by unhappy motorists snapped by the car's onboard camera.

Councillor Pepperell says it's about 'how much is too much' when it comes to regulation.

"We terribly over-regulated as it is and people are feeling that parking issues are changing the branding of the city."
