Photos have emerged from a Texas Dad's first and last meeting with his baby girl.

Mark Aulger was diagnosed with colon cancer in April 2011, AP reports.

Surgery and chemotherapy seemed successful at first, but he soon developed pulmonary fibrosis, which causes the lungs to thicken.

Mark and his wife, Diane, 31, learned the condition was fatal on January 16.

They made the decision to have Diane's labour induced so Mark could meet their newest child, according to AP.

Photos from the 45 minutes that Mark Aulger spent with his daughter Savannah have emerged.

Diane Aulger says "he cried and he just looked very sad". Mark died five days later at age 52.
