Glider in serious condition after fall
A hang glider pilot suffered serious injuries after crashing into a hill near Auckland.
A northern communications Ambulance spokesman told NZ Newswire the 55-year-old suffered serious injuries after crashing into a grass-covered hill near Lake Puketi, 70km south of Auckland, about 6.15pm on Friday.
The man was flown to Middlemore Hospital by helicopter.
