Two tremors shake country
Two earthquakes roiled parts of the country on Sunday.
A magnitude 4.2 earthquake shook people in the Wellington region and parts of the top of the South Island at 11.33am.
The tremor was centred 10 kilometres southwest of Wellington, at a depth of 30km, GeoNet says.
The second quake, also measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale, struck at 12.31pm and was felt on the West Coast of the South Island.
It was centred 10km south of Ross at a depth of 15km.
Police told NZ Newswire they had received no reports of damage.The world in pictures
