A man was killed when the car he was driving smashed into the side of a bridge near the Hawke's Bay town of Havelock North on Thursday.
A police spokesman told NZ Newswire police were called to the scene on Tuki Tuki Bridge on Waimarama Rd, 10km southeast of Havelock North, at 3.20pm but the man was found dead at the scene.
The man was the sole occupant of the car and no other vehicles were involved.
