A cold and hungry tramper has been found after four days missing in the Hunua Ranges, south of Auckland.
Ronnie Fong, 38, who was formerly known as Ronnie Kumar, was found by Police Search and Rescue staff on Tuesday evening.
"Mr Fong is reported to be cold and hungry, but otherwise well," a police statement said.
He was poorly prepared for cold nights outdoors when he set out for a walk wearing a lightweight jacket and three-quarter-length shorts and carrying a day pack, police earlier said.
He had been missing since Saturday.
Up to 60 people, including a dog team, spent Tuesday looking for Mr Fong as police remained hopeful they would find him.
Mr Fong will be taken out of the bush on Tuesday evening and reunited with his family.
