Although police investigating the homicide of Paeroa pizza shop owner Jordan Voudouris know how he died they will not reveal the details.
Jordan Voudouris' body was found in an alley leading to his Mykonos Pizza and Pasta business in the Waikato town on Monday.
Detective Senior Sergeant Michael Whitehead says police are making good progress with the inquiry.
Police have a "clear indication" of Mr Voudouris' fatal injuries.
"This information may prove vital to catching the offender and solving this homicide, so police will not be commenting on those details at this stage of the investigation," Det Sen Sgt Whitehead said in a statement on Thursday afternoon.
He said CCTV footage showed a number of people in central Paeroa on Sunday evening and Monday morning and police wanted to speak to them.
Police are continuing to investigate whether Mr Voudouris' death was linked to an attempted service station robbery in Waihi, 20km east of Paeroa, and an aggravated robbery of a dairy in Katikati, a further 25km to the southeast.
