A young Auckland mother is set to go on trial for the alleged murder of her newborn baby boy last year.
Kulukora Akau'ola, 22, from Otahuhu, pleaded not guilty to a charge of murder in the High Court at Auckland in November last year, Fairfax reported.
Her trial is expected to begin on Monday and take two weeks.
The baby's body was found in a makeshift grave in the backyard of an Otahuhu house in June last year.
Police believe the baby was born on May 26, a week before his body was discovered.
Akau'ola was living with her parents at the time of the baby's birth, and police said it is not believed they knew she was pregnant.
The baby's birth was never registered, and he did not have a name.
