A 19-year-old student has died hours after joining her friends on an ‘End of the World’ pub crawl.
Bonnie Whitehead was studying Law and International Relations at Bond University on the Gold Coast.
Last Friday she and 600 other students went on a university organised pub crawl, according to News Limited.
It’s believed she went home early at 9pm but when her friends didn’t see her by the following afternoon, they tried to wake her up.
They called paramedics at about 1:40pm when she didn’t respond and was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Student Association president Henry Norris told Gold Coast Bulletin that Bonnie "was an active member of the ... student community".
"Known, adored and respected by so many, Bonnie left a powerful impression on all those who had the privilege of meeting her," he said.
Bonnie attended high school at Wenona girls’ school in Sydney and was on the NSW Premier’s all-round achievers’ list for outstanding academic achievement.
