A piece of New Zealand history has been dug up at the construction site of the new Supreme Court building in Wellington.
Workers at the Lambton Quay site have found a glass jar which had been buried by those constructing the old building in 1879. The Justice Ministry says the jar has been removed by archaeologists, who will carefully open it in the next few days.
It appears the jar was buried to bring the old building good luck.
