A man was admitted to Christchurch Hospital after being stabbed last night.
St John ambulance said the incident happened in the suburb of Linwood at 9.32pm.
"An ambulance was sent to an address in Worcester St, Linwood, and the patient, a man, was taken to Christchurch Hospital emergency department at the request of police," St John's Ian Henderson said.
The man had minor injuries.
Police could not confirm details when contacted.
