Harawira's future uncertain

Newstalk ZB November 7, 2009, 6:21 pm

Hone Harawira's future with the Maori Party remains uncertain.

The Te Tai Tokerau MP is in a meeting with the party president Dr Whatarangi Winiata and other officials this evening following the row over his skipping an official event in Brussels to go to Paris for the day with his wife Hilda. Mr Harawira will also have to explain his abusive email defending that trip.

Dr Winiata has said the party is on the verge of disciplinary action against Mr Harawira. He says the behaviour involves "serious breaches of the kaupapa and tikanga of the party".
