SAN FRANCISCO (AFP) - Agence France-Presse (AFP) and Relaxnews announced the US launch on Thursday of the newswire dedicated to leisure and lifestyle news.

Relaxnews, which is already available in Europe and Asia, made its US debut at the Online News Association conference here.

Aimed at the media, institutions, brands and their agencies, Relaxnews, distributed exclusively by AFP, offers stories and multimedia reports on well-being, house and home, entertainment and tourism.

It offers 400 illustrated stories a week, dynamic photo slideshows and video reports plus an events calendar highlighting 100 "must-see" events around the world.

Relaxnews's trend-spotting lists follow top trends on Twitter and the most downloaded iPhone applications among others.

Relaxnews is available through an online platform at www.relaxnews.com or as an XML feed.
