Rescue teams are covering land and sea as the search for the missing kayaker in Wellington Harbour continues.

The alarm was raised last night after the 19-year-old man’s partner raced to shore when they both fell into the water.

An aerial, marine and shoreline search continued into the early hours of the morning and continued at first light today.

Wellington district police Search and Rescue coordinator sergeant Joe Holden told Stuff the good search conditions yesterday continue today.

The man’s yellow kayak and rucksack have been found.
