Police are seeking legal advice over the car crash that killed Timaru businessman Allan Hubbard, but have no time frame for a decision on whether charges will be laid.
Mr Hubbard was killed on September 2 when a car driven by his wife, Jean, was involved in head-on collision with a four-wheel drive on State Highway One just north of Oamaru. The driver of the other car was also injured.
"Police are currently seeking a legal opinion. Consequently, a final decision in relation to the outcome is yet to be made," said Southern District police spokeswoman Vivien Pullar.
"There is no timeframe for when this part of the process will be complete."
Mr Hubbard's Aorangi Securities was being investigated by the Serious Fraud Office after it was placed in statutory management in June 2010, owing investors about $100 million.
