A Coroner is warning of the dangers of climbing onto electricity pylons after the death of a man in Mercer.
Kheirrson Pukeroa died in March last year after was climbing a pylon with a friend at a remote site in the town.
He was rushed to Middlemore Hospital by ambulance but could not be resuscitated.
Coroner Peter Ryan says Pukeroa received an electric shock and fell 13 metres.
He died from the injuries he received from the fall.
