An inmate remains on the run after fleeing Christchurch Hospital where he was undergoing treatment.
Police are asking people to report sightings of Neil Joseph Anderson, 46, who fled the hospital while handcuffed and wearing a gown on Tuesday.
A police spokesman told NZ Newswire Anderson may be hiding out in one of the abandoned buildings in east Christchurch.
Anderson is described as Caucasian, about 1.72m tall, with thinning blond hair.
He was due to appear before the courts on Tuesday facing 26 charges of theft and intentional damage, Fairfax reported.
