NZ Newswire July 21, 2012, 5:04 am

A man is set to appear in court charged with murder after a woman's body was found in a Tauranga driveway.

Police were called to an address in the suburb of Judea just after 2pm on Friday, after a member of the public reported a dispute between a man and a woman outside a house.

When police arrived, they found the woman's body in the driveway.

The 64-year-old man was arrested and charged with murder on Friday evening.

He will appear in Tauranga District Court on Saturday morning.

The scene has been cordoned off and a forensic examination will be done on Saturday.

Once it's completed, the woman's body can be removed and a post-mortem will be held to establish the cause of death.

Police are still working to find the woman's next of kin.

It's understood that the man and the woman involved in the dispute were known to each other.

The woman was believed to have been stabbed to death in a violent domestic incident, the Bay of Plenty Times reported.
