Powerball ticket worth $8.5m
A Lotto Powerball winner in Auckland is the seventh multi-millionaire player this year, NZ Lotteries says.
The ticket, sold at Whitcoulls New Lynn in Auckland, won $8.5 million in the draw on Saturday night.
"Since the start of 2012 we've created seven multi-millionaires...and what a way to celebrate our 25th birthday by creating yet another winner," Lotteries chief executive Wayne Pickup said.
A Lotto first-division winner from Tauranga also won $500,000.
