Police are hunting high-risk child sex offender Darren Albert Jolly for allegedly breaching supervision orders.
Jolly, 47, has previously been sentenced to seven and a half years' jail on 33 charges including unlawful connection with girls aged 14 and 15.
A statement from police on Wednesday evening says Jolly is wanted for breaching an extended supervision order which includes 24-hour electronic monitoring.
He left his Wellington home last Wednesday and police believe he has been in Taupo and Hamilton and is heading to Auckland.
Jolly has a history of failing to stop and driving dangerously at high speeds to avoid arrest, police say.
Anyone who has seen Jolly or the blue Honda Civic sedan he may be driving - registration AYT134 - is asked to contact police.
