Police are hunting high-risk child sex offender Darren Albert Jolly for allegedly breaching supervision orders.
Jolly, 47, has previously been sentenced to seven and a half years' jail on 33 charges including unlawful connection with girls aged 14 and 15.
A statement from police on Wednesday evening says Jolly is wanted for breaching an extended supervision order which includes 24-hour electronic monitoring.
He left his Wellington home last Wednesday and police believe he has been in Taupo and Hamilton and is heading to Auckland.
Jolly has a history of failing to stop and driving dangerously at high speeds to avoid arrest, police say.Anyone who has seen Jolly or the blue Honda Civic sedan he may be driving - registration AYT134 - is asked to contact police.
