The Labour Party says police bosses are struggling to achieve hefty budget cuts.
Law and Order spokesman Clayton Cosgrove says the Government ordered them to deliver a plan to slash $21 million by the end of July. He says it is now two months later, and still not finished.
Mr Cosgrove says police district chiefs are struggling to deliver the cuts. He says it is one thing to produce a balance sheet to suit the Government, but it is another thing to produce a sheet of arrests to reassure New Zealanders.
