One person died in a two car crash in the Bay of Plenty last night and another person has been taken to Rotorua Hospital with moderate injuries.
Police say the cars collided on the highway, near Reporoa. Shortly after, two other vehicles crashed into the accident scene causing minor injuries to people still in their vehicles.
The accident closed State Highway 5 for several hours but it has since reopened.
