A multi-million dollar transport upgrade opens in Albany north of Auckland today.
The $16.6 million project includes Albany Lakes Civic Park and the development of new bus shelters and bus lanes to maintain services for the park and shopping centre.
North Shore mayor Andrew Williams says Albany is one of the fastest growing areas in New Zealand and the council hopes the improvements to transport will provide a hub for the area.
The completed project will be celebrated tonight with an evening of entertainment and a spectacular fireworks display.
