A scrub fire near Wellington overnight is out after fire services spent about 10 hours at the scene.
The Fire Service was called to Paekakariki Hill, about 35 kilometres northeast of Wellington, around 10pm, central fire communications shift manager Mike Wanoa said.
The fire was not "that big" but it was difficult to access the area, he said.
The fire was out by 8am.
