One of the country's top cops has been provisionally appointed as the director of the Organised and Financial Crime Agency.
Detective Superintendent Malcolm Burgess will assume the role immediately.
He has been with the police for 33 years. For the past seven he has been dealing with the overall crime issues for the South Island.
