Somerville had sex with strangled victims

Newstalk ZB November 9, 2009, 11:47 am

Shocking details have emerged for the first time about what happened inside Christchurch's so called 'House of Horrors'.

This morning 33-year-old Jason Somerville pleaded guilty to two counts of murder after the bodies of his wife, Rebecca and neighbour Tisha Lowry were discovered under his house in September. Tisha Lowry had been missing for a year when her body was found.

A summary of facts show Somerville had sex with both his victims after he strangled them to death. Somerville told police he killed his wife in September after she refused his sexual advances.

Somerville has been remanded in custody for sentencing on November 27. Two psychiatric reports and victim impact statements from the Somerville's children have been called for.

The Hampshire St house has been the subject of two arson attacks since the bodies of the women were found.
