A woman has been arrested after a joint police and Customs operation nabbed six kilogrammes of the party drug BZP at Auckland International Airport.
The 38-year-old from Palmerston North has been charged with importing the drug and is due in court on Wednesday. Police believe the BZP, was imported from China and has a street value of around $180,000.
Detective Sergeant Phil Skoglund says it is a timely reminder that party pills are now classified as Class C controlled drugs and the amnesty for their possession is well and truly over.
