Wellington police launched an investigation on Monday into the sudden death of a young man at a central city cinema complex on Sunday night.
The body of the 23 year-old was found by a staff member at the Reading Courtenay cinema shortly before 8.30pm.
He was identified later in the week as 23-year-old Anthony Damien Smythe.
Police in Wellington had their hands full at the start of the week; residents in a central Wellington apartment building said they heard piercing screams before a young man's body was found behind the building on Sunday.
He was later named as Dushan Saddlier Pouao, 18, from Porirua – detectives says it is likely he fell to his death.
Some good news came through on Monday too, after a dog that spent nine days at the bottom of a 60-metre Otago cliff without food or water was reunited with his owner.
