Major road closed by broken gas main
A major road on Auckland's North Shore has been shut down by a ruptured gas main.
The four-inch gas main has ruptured in Lake Rd, closing that street between Rewiti Ave and Ewen St.
Police have advised motorists to avoid that area until further notice, with traffic diverted down Rewiti Ave, to William St and up Ewen St.
Devonport traffic will be diverted from Harley Rd to Eldon St and onto Esmonde Rd.
Police said no evacuation of residents will be necessary.The world in pictures
