The brother and father of the New Zealand woman reportedly involved in a Croatian sex romp have gone to be with her as she recovers from a six hour operation to reattach her hand.

A family member told the Stuff website that Amy Ramage, who sliced her hand on a yacht in Croatia, has strong principles and is a "good Christian girl".

Last week, it was reported that a New Zealand woman nearly lost her hand during an "intimate act" on yacht and was rushed to a hospital in Split.

Surgeons reattached her hand after a long surgery but the woman will need months of rehabilitation.

Ms Ramage, 28, is from Christchurch.

Her brother and father have rushed to be with her in Croatia, the Stuff website says.

Authorities are still looking for her British lover, who she reportedly struck up a romance with on the yachting holiday.
