Man sues Guinness World Records over suing record

Yahoo!Xtra May 27, 2009, 2:29 pm

The Guinness Book of World Records is being sued by the man they name as having sued the most people ever.

Unhappy with his title and place in the record book, Jonathan Lee Riches has filed the lawsuit in the Eastern District of Washington, one of the few U.S District Courts where he isn't banned from filing.

Among his previous targets appear actor Emilio Estevez, the Roman Empire and the Eiffel Tower.

According to The Spokesman-Review Riches, dubbed 'Sue-per-man', has said of his action, "The Guinness Book of World Records have no right to publish my work, my legal masterpieces."

Currently serving time for wire fraud in the Federal Medical Center, Kentucky, it is reported he has filed over 4,000 lawsuits around the world from people to objects and concepts, even gods and entities have been thrown before the court.

Metro.co.uk reports that 'the world's most litigious man' could be released by 2012.
